Probiotics are a hot topic these days, but in reality they have been around for generations. Before I started to regularly take probiotic pills, I had no idea what they were or what probiotics were used for! Now that I take probiotics daily, I love sharing with others what the benefits of taking probiotics are.
What Are Probiotics?
Probiotics come in many ingestible forms: pills, food and drinks. They are a living bacteria microorganism that has been proven to help many health ailments.
Common Uses of Probiotics Include:
The most common use of probiotics is to support good digestive health. Probiotics help digestive health by regulating the movement of food in the intestines. They can also treat diseases of the gut. Probiotics can be used for treatment of IBS, IBD, Crohns, Diarrhea, Ulcerative Colitis and more. Probiotics can aid the good bacteria, fight the bad bacteria and reduce inflammation.
Outside of gut diseases, probiotics may also be used to treat skin conditions, allergies and people believe many other body issues.
Choosing a Probiotic
I currently take a variety of probiotics in multiple forms. I really enjoy kefir and probiotic drinks. Since food and drink forms of probiotics are not always the most convenient, I also have probiotics in pill forms.
When choosing a probiotic, make sure to check the label for ingredients, beware of sketchy labels and companies and read reviews. There are many probiotics available to choose from, so choose carefully.
About Advanced Probiotic
Recently, I have found added benefits from taking Number One Nutrition Advanced Probiotic. (right now $19.99 on Amazon). It is an all natural formula with over 10 billion CFU to support my gut and digestion. When I take it regularly, it helps with the bloating I get from eating foods and helps speed up my slow digestive tract. I have been taking it for a week now, and hoping that the longer I take it, the more benefits I might see. I am hoping it will also relieve me of some of the fatigue that I get after eating and the irritability I feel from often not feeling good because of my digestive record.
I know many of my issues are cause because of a poorly ran GI tract and I am excited for the potential to regulate this with a good probiotic.
