The other morning I woke up and my hand itched. My immediate thought? Bed bugs. It had to be bed bugs! (It ended up being a bug bite, most likely not bed bugs). But here is the thing, anytime I see a speck on my bed or get a bite of some kind, I fear bed bugs! I have a real problem!
Of course my problem does stem from the fact that I am in 3+ different hotels a week. Some of these hotels are on the bed bug registry. It is no wonder I am obsessed with the fear of getting them in my own home. Not to mention I know a handful of people that have had them… maybe even more if I asked! But I don’t want to know!
Obviously traveling a lot, you have a greater risk of getting them. But you don’t have to be a traveler, you could just shop at thrift stores or heck… be around the general public! Wow, check, check and check to all of the above.
This is why I was THRILLED to be a tester of the ThermalStrike luggage! This revolutionary piece of luggage has a heating technology that kills bed bugs, lice and other bugs that could potential be in your suitcase!
It is easy to use, just check out my ThermalStrike Bed Bug Luggage review that I made (killing whatever might be living on my latest stash from the Goodwill Thrift Store!).
Pretty neat product right? Kill bed bugs before you even get home! So, for the technical folks out there, here is a little more information.
- Infrared heat technology <one mm thick and weighs less than half a pound.
- Heat temperature inside of the suitcase can reach up to 140˚F
- Once the fatal wave length energy temperature has been reached (about 2.5 hours), ThermalStrike’s sensors automatically turn the unit off.
- ThermalStrike’s polycarbonate blend outer shell is extremely tough.
- Features: aluminum handle, reinforced corner guards and TSA approved lock.
- Four-wheel 360 degree rotational movement.
- Is TSA and FAA compliant.
My Thoughts – As a flight attendant, I am loving this product. It is a surprisingly lightweight and attractive suitcase. More importantly, it has purpose. I found the bed bug killing process very easy – plug in cord to suitcase, insert into wall socket and wait! The process does take a bit of time, but is unique, unlike other conventional heating methods that would weigh much, much more. Beyond all the aesthetically pleasing features and the state-of-the-art technology, I am very pleased with the end result – NO BED BUGS! Killing bed bugs at all stages is important to me, and if this product does it, I am incredibly pleased!
