Well these skin-tight shorts have instantly become A Big Deal in the U.K. and now they will be hitting the U.S. market. I was happy to be a tester for them!
So, they are essentially black shorts that snug tightly to your body and make you perspire (HOTPANTS says increases your body heat and sweating by 80%) and therefore help you lose weight. They come in size small to size extra large. You can find the chart on the HOTPANTS site.
When I first put the HOTPANTS on, I felt like I was wearing biking shorts minus the padded butt! Or a wetsuit – minus the top! They have that wetsuit feel. The shorts fit just above my belly button and end right in the middle of my thigh. I ordered the small and when I got them I thought “There is no way I am going to fit in these.” Sure enough I did… while they were a little tight at first, the next few days they got a little looser. Whoa! Did this mean they were really working and I was losing inches?
Not so fast. 🙂 That was just the first few days, they were getting adjusted to my body. But I did participate in the two-week challenge. I lost 3 pounds (which is not too shabby for me)!
In their advertising they mention people losing inches in their waist size. Impressive! Although my 3 pounds is not that extreme, I really didn’t have multiple sizes to lose. But I can see how these could give you good results when working out in them consistently.
I tried wearing them for mini-workout and I sweat in them almost immediately. Which got me hopeful since I carry (and most women too) my weight in my stomach and thighs. It felt like it was sliming and working that area. Happy about that! I also wore them around my house. I didn’t sweat quite as much, but they stay warm and do make you sweat – even when you aren’t working out.
I like the HOTPANTS for a few reasons. Simply, they definitely keep my warm! I appreciate that on these chill-to-the-bone Colorado days! But more than that, not only do they make you sweat because they are skin-tight, they are sort of a work out in themselves. It’s true. Every time I walked up the stairs or bent down to grab something, it was a little more work than when I am not wearing them! (I can kind of equate it to those workout stretchy resistance bands.)
Now, I am not sure that my results were directly from the HOTPANTS, but it is likely since I wore them pretty much 24/7 in 2 weeks. If you would like to read more reviews on these pants check out their website or HOTPANTS on Facebook.
The HOTPANTS can be purchased online for $70.77. (yes, that is a random price… I think it is due to the conversion from £ to $.) I believe that they are currently only sold online.
