The new acne solution? There are a few new acne tools out there that are the newest, most innovative way to get rid of zits. Have you seen them? They are all over drugstores and in mass retailers. They come in many different forms and many different price ranges. I was excited to try one out for the first time and see what the hype was about.
What is Tanda Zap?
The Tanda brand is part of Syneron Beauty, a global leader in aesthetic devices. The company is dedicated to the development of innovative, high-performance beauty treatments, empowering users with professional level solutions for at-home use. The Tanda Zap is one of their creations.
This device is an acne clearing device that is clinically proven to clear individual acne blemishes fast. It’s small design can fit anywhere – even your pocket! How it works – a blue light causes a chemical reaction that kills bacteria that cause pimples. For those who need more explanation on the magic solution…
From their website:
Blue Light: 414nm blue light works by producing oxygen singlets which attach to the P.acnes bacteria (acne-causing bacteria). These singlets have a phototoxic effect on key porphorins, causing the P.acnes bacteria to self-destruct
Sonic vibration: Increases microcirculation to reduce swelling and inflammation while agitating the skin to expose more of the bacteria to the light
Gentle warming: Produced by the light energy, opens pores and allows the light to reach more bacteria
Trying Out the Tanda Zap
So we tested out the device on one pesky pimple. We did as the directions suggested. Used the device 3x per day for the duration of the treatment. The pictures above are from using the Tanda Zap after nine treatments total, for three days.
It is hard to say whether or not the product worked, or if it was just time the pimple needed. I will say one thing, the pimple went from unmanageable (I need to pop right this instant) to less bothersome (I can let it be, it isn’t bothering me) after just one use.
It is important that after one use the pimple was no longer achy and painful and felt like it was taking over! Because if you are anything like me, you have an urgent need to pop it. If I can at least solve that issue, then maybe it will reduce the duration of the pimple. The pimple did not go away in a flash, but the pain stopped and it was less red.
** This device has been clinical proven to reduce bacteria. Other skin types might have a different reaction. It was featured on Dr. Oz with impressive results. That just shows that we all have different skin and what might work for some might not as well for others.
Tanda has joined up in the launch of “Bully,” a controversial documentary that follows the lives of five students and their struggle with bullying and abuse. They want to help empower teens to feel confident and secure in their own skin.
