Review: Bebe au Lait Nursing Cover

One thing I was sure of when I found out that I was pregnant, was that I would breastfeed my baby. What I didn’t know, was how often that would be in the first few months! Averaging every two hours all through the day and night. I quickly realized that once I got the hang of it, I would often be in a situation where I was either out and about, or home with company during feeding times. This made me pretty nervous at first. Although I am comfortable nursing in front of my husband, I must admit I prefer some privacy in front of anyone else.

The cover is made of soft cotton and is nice and thick. The adjustable neckline is rigid which makes sort of a “tent” to be able to look down at your baby without anyone else seeing and I feel completely covered with it on. One of my favorite features are the terry cloth pockets underneath. They can be used to store small items such as a pacifier but I’ve been using mine to double as a burp cloth. My nursing cover has gone everywhere with me the last couple of weeks. I’ve used it at friend’s houses, coffee shops, and even the nursing mother’s room at church. It washes up great as well. While reading about Bebe Au Lait nursing covers on their website, I came across the idea to use the cover as either a light blanket, or a sun shade. Both great ideas! Especially when I already feel like my diaper bag is packed full. This is a must have for any new mom and would make a great shower gift.
