If there is one thing I know I am good, actually GREAT at, it’s organization. Everything has it’s spot and everything goes back into that same designated spot. I like keeping things clean, simple and well organized. Of course, I couldn’t do it without a little help. I have quite a few methods and inventive products that help me with my organization. The newest product helping me organize is the NeatReceipts mobile scanner. It is a digital filing system that works wonders! I am reducing paper and have become more organized than EVER!

How I did it before: I’ve always collected papers and receipts to file and put them into little envelopes. From there, they were filed under their specific category and put into a file cabinet. Talk about a lot of paper and extra work! Now things are simplified!

How it’s changed: NeatReceipts is reducing bulk in my filing cabinet immensely! I just scan my receipt and organize them digitally on my computer. Thanks to the software “Neat 5” for PC –organizing is a cinch. It is easy to install and follow the steps too.

I can now make little folders on the program to manage, organize, and file it away! For instance, I have a warranty section. Anytime we purchase an electronic item I save it, but now I scan the warranty, both sides and file it in the “Warranties” folder. I have the date, time and more too! This is great so I can know when the item was purchased! This is key for any limited time warranty! You only have a certain amount of time to return items! I can put notes into it and organize it in a way that makes sense. This is great if I want to put in where I keep the item (top shelf den, etc. !) I can keep notes and be even more organized than ever! Once you’ve scanned your receipts, business cards, etc. you can drag them into an expense report, e-mail them, or export them to programs like Microsoft Excel, Quicken and QuickBooks, Adobe Acrobat and more.

Some of the receipts it cannot read and input (handwritten and very faded smaller receipts). But you can manually put them in yourself. So everything is kept track of and in one spot! Love that!

I am having fun playing around with this neat-o scanner and program developed by The Neat® Company! So far I have a section for Warranties, Rebates, Taxes 2011, 2012, and Home improvements. And I am still thinking of other things I can scan in and organize!

The program is easy to search through and find something you are looking for. Honestly, there is a lot more to this NeatReceipts device than I can explain, and I am still learning! But one thing for sure, it is user-friendly, so I imagine I will be an expert in no time. Under the Tree Idea!! Anybody else out there who finds that their parents and in-lawed parents are the hardest to buy for? Because we sure do! Well, the NeatReceipts is a perfect solution!
