Fake sugar is not my thing. I don’t like the taste of splenda or any of the other sugar substitutes. So when I drink soda, I only drink the full-of-sugar type. Which I know is bad for me and my teeth. An article caught my eye the other day, when I came across a whole new idea on soda
, and I was very interested to learn more.
I found out about this herb called stevia, that is a natural sweetener used around the world. Stevia is native to South and Central America, and now grown in Asia. For centuries, native Americans of Paraguay and Brazil called it “sweet leaf” and used it to sweeten foods. Stevia helps with dental hygiene, recent studies found it has antioxidant properties and other health benefits, and it contains no calories.
