Although April Fools is over, we are about to fool our friends and family all year round with these funky Polar ice cubes trays! Okay, I’ve gotta admit it. I first saw these ice cube trays online and thought they were kinda cute, but cheesy and probably didn’t work as well as shown. But after testing them for myself, these Polar ice cube trays are way cool!
First of all, they work incredibly well. Just as advertised. Unique ice cubes that depict a polar bear and 2 penguins standing on a glacier. Just like the product pictures. In fact, to prove it to you – I took my very own shots of the polar ices cubes:
Neat right? Little artistic ice cube molds! That’s 2 penguins and a polar bear standing on top of a ice cube!
The package comes with two tray molds: white polar bear tray and black penguin tray. The trays themselves are similar to the size of a large shot glass (about 80 x 70mm) . Small enough to fit anywhere in your freezer – no rearranging necessary!
Beyond the outline of the animal on the cap of the ice trays, they are easy to tell apart – the white is the polar bear – because polar bears are white and the black is for the penguins – because– they’re mostly black! ;)The molds are easy to wash: by hand, in the dishwasher or even boil them in water to disinfect! They are made of silicone resin, which is flexible and makes it easy to remove the cube!
How to use:
Fill water up to the inner line on the tray - Pinch the knob on the bottom of the tray to remove any air bubbles
- Attach the lid and freeze in the freezer
- Freeze completely
- Remove the ice tray from the freezer, and peel the edge of the container downward
- Carefully remove the ice while pushing the knob on the bottom
- Float the ice in your favorite drink!
My husband and I were very impressed with how well they work! And if you are wondering how they work with other ice cubes? Just load your glass with standard ice, and put the special polar ice in last!
We just think these Polar Ice Cube Molds are both original and fun! We can’t wait to accessorize refreshments next time we have guests over. I look forward to the surprise look on their faces when they see a floating pair of penguins or a polar bear on all fours! Or imagine putting a bunch of these floating ice cubes in a punch bowl for a party! Too fun!
