Why mess with a great thing?
Hamburgers are a staple food at our house in the summertime. My husband and I do a lot (I’m talking a lot) of grilling, both for just us and also when we have friends over. We feel like you can’t go wrong with good ol’ American burgers.
And my husband can make some mean burger patties. No seriously.
One of the best parts about beef hamburgers is the fact everyone can make theirs uniquely their own. This is great when you are having a get-together, especially now with everyone’s food allergies and specific food preferences.
You start with the staple – a perfectly grilled burger, add a bun and then each person adds the toppings they prefer on their own burger. The delicious beef protein creates a palate for all kinds of creative burger combinations!
Here are a few of our standard sides:
Did you know? Beef contains ten essential nutrients like protein, iron and zinc.
Just the other day we joined some neighbors for dinner, we brought the burgers and they brought the sides. We had a great time in their company, each of us enjoying the food in our own way…
My hamburger was sans wheat bun, instead a lettuce bun! Two thick pieces of romaine and I’ve got myself a gluten-free burger. My husband despises ketchup, so you won’t find that on his. We found out our neighbors prefer to add a little cheese and some horseradish. It is so interesting how one classic base – the burger itself, can be crafted to each individual!
But the one thing that remained the same was the beef burger patty.
Here is our recipe for seasoned beef slider burgers:
